Live tracking

Lean angle and speed in real time

While you ride, lean angle and speed are displayed in real time. The lean angle can be captured either via the smartphone sensor or via an external PerformanceTracker — the latter allows considerably higher accuracy as well as the recording of G-forces and acceleration times.

Navigation

Curvy or fast — you decide

The built-in navigation offers two modes: the fastest route for the direct way or the curvy route for maximum riding fun. The tour mode automatically generates a round trip with a selectable route length — ideal when the journey is the destination.

Statistics

Ride history and analysis after every ride

After every ride, a detailed history is available: the route you rode is shown on the map colour-coded by lean angle. Maximum lean angle, top speed, ride duration and distance are summarised clearly. Rides can also be shared with friends via a link.

Auto-start

Recording starts automatically via Bluetooth

Recording starts automatically as soon as a connection to a configured Bluetooth device is established — a Sena or Cardo intercom, for example. Auto-stop ends the recording automatically when that connection is cut.

Profile

Your profile, your bikes, your story

Every user has their own profile with an avatar, bio, motorcycle gallery and social media links. The search lets you find other motorcyclists, send friend requests and manage your contacts. The privacy settings determine who is allowed to see which information.

Communities

Exclusive partner communities for each region

BikeMates relies on exclusive partner communities for each country and region — curated, moderated and with real added value for the local biker scene. Every partner community has its own channels, rules and an active moderation team. You join through an application system.

Messenger

One-to-one and group chats with voice messages

The built-in messenger supports one-to-one and group chats with text and voice messages. Voice messages are displayed with a waveform visualisation. All messages are processed on our own servers in the EU — no sharing of data with third parties.

Crash Detection

Automatic fall and crash detection

BikeMates detects crashes automatically from the sensor data during an active recording. If a crash is detected, the emergency contacts you have stored are informed by push message. On Android, text messages are sent to the stored phone contacts as well. In both cases your current location and the ride history of the last five minutes are transmitted.

Hazard warner

Speed cameras, roadworks and more — in real time

The free built-in speed camera and hazard warner gives acoustic notice of upcoming hazard spots via intercom systems or the speaker. Supported are, among others, fixed and mobile speed cameras, distance checks, average speed checks, red light cameras, traffic jam reports, roadworks, risk of skidding and police reports. The type and extent of the warnings can be adjusted individually.

Live location

Share your location with friends in real time

During an active recording, your location can be shared with selected friends in real time. The “Protect home” function automatically obscures your own location as soon as you approach your home town — for maximum privacy, even with new acquaintances.

Group rides

Ride together and see each other on the map

The tour function lets you create a group ride. Participants join with an invitation code — recording starts automatically. All participants see each other on the map in real time. When the recording is stopped, you automatically leave the group ride.

Community locations

Visible on the map — anonymous or personal

Members of a community can share their location internally with other members — including their profile picture on the map. Alternatively there is public location sharing: only the community logo is shown, fully anonymised and without any personal data. The update interval and the radius are freely configurable.

Bike garage

Manage your motorcycles digitally

In the digital garage you can add as many motorcycles as you like — including manufacturer, model, power, displacement, photo and nickname. Bikes can also be shared with friends, for example when a motorcycle is used jointly. The chain care reminder tells you after a defined distance when lubricating or cleaning is due. The fuel warning speaks up once the range you set has been reached.

TPMS

Monitor tyre pressure in real time

BikeMates supports external tyre pressure sensors via Bluetooth. Tyre pressure, temperature and sensor voltage are read out in real time and monitored while you ride. If there are critical deviations from the target pressure, a warning is issued automatically — colour-coded by severity. The matching sensors are available in the built-in shop.

PerformanceTracker

More precise lean angle, G-forces and more

The PerformanceTracker is an external sensor that is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Compared with the internal smartphone sensor it allows considerably more accurate lean angle measurement and extends the recording with G-forces and acceleration times. Calibration is carried out once per bike.

The built-in marketplace offers selected accessories for motorcycling — including tyre pressure sensors, the PerformanceTracker and other equipment. Ordering, payment and shipment tracking take place entirely within the app.
